When to sow | Sow indoors September to April. |
Where to sow | To improve chances of germination place seeds in a polythene bag and pop in the fridge at 4°C for 3 weeks prior to sowing. |
Sow indoors thinly on the surface of compost filled pots or trays and cover the seeds with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a warm position (15 to 18°C) and keep out of direct sunlight to exclude light until germination has occurred. Germination usually takes place within 14-21 days but can take longer. |

As flower stalks grow taller they may need staking.
To encourage further blooms deadhead by cutting spent flower spikes back to small flowering side shoots.
