Description

This annual mix of colourful cornfield flowers will provide a bold display in the same year if sown in spring and the following year if sown in autumn.

It includes 5 UK native flower species ( Corn Cockle, Corn Marigold, Cornflower, Corn Chamomile and the Field Poppy), which are recommended by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) as 'Perfect for Pollinators' and will therefore attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

When to Sow March to May and August to early October.
Where to Sow Sow direct outdoors in flowering position in a well prepared, weed free bed.
Water the area prior to sowing.
How to Sow Mix the seed with some dry sand prior to sowing ( this will make it easier to spread and to see where it has been sown).
Sow by hand, distributing the seed/sand mixture evenly over the area ( 2 gram per square metre).
If you can, split the seed/sand mixture in half and sow one half in one direction and the other half at right angles.
What to do Next Gently trample over the area by foot to ensure the seeds are in close contact with the soil to enable them to absorb water from the soil more effectively.
Water if conditions are dry until the seedlings are established.
Deadhead faded blooms regularly to encourage more flowers to be produced.
Flowering period June-September
