Description
The Cornflower is a cottage garden favourite which is quick and easy to grow from seed. The stunning electric blue flowers will attract bees and butterflies all summer long and they make a great cut flower too. They're a hardy annual, which means they can be sown late in autumn or very early in the spring.

| Where to Sow | Sow direct outdoors in flowering position in a well prepared, weed free bed. |

| How to Sow | Sow by hand, distributing the seeds evenly over the area. |
| If you want a more orderly display, sow seeds in rows of straight lines or, curves for a more natural effect. | |
| For a continuous display, make sowings at two to three-week intervals. | |

| Once the cornflower has finished flowering, leave a few plants to die down and self seed. Others can be pulled up and composted. | |
| Do not over fertilise because this will lead to excessive leaf growth at the expense of flowers. | |
